HoPA is a non-profit purchasing association committed to upholding integrity and setting high standards. We recognized that the Purchasing unit is essential in financial decision-making, and we strive to acknowledge the valuable contributions of these expert professionals who maintain their integrity even in challenging situations. Our goal is to establish industry best practices with transparency and accountability, recognizing and adding value to their profession.

Since our inception in early 2023, we have brought our vision to reality with a team of purchasing professionals who prioritize financial leadership and accountability. We have developed a networking platform to connect purchasing professionals and business partners from various industries, providing them with exposure and personal development opportunities. Our aim is to restore economic balance in price management and quality assurance. We are actively gathering a target of 1,000 members by 2025, with the ultimate goal of expanding globally and setting a new standard for professionals from Malaysia.

PRESIDENT’S NOTE

I am delighted to announce that on January 13th, 2023, the Hospitality Purchasing Association (HoPA) was formed. With over three decades of experience in the sourcing and procurement field, encompassing various industries such as construction, manufacturing, hospitality, gaming, entertainment, and theme parks, particularly in pre-opening projects and operations, I have gained extensive experience and valuable insights that I believe can greatly benefit the industry as a whole.

Through the establishment of HoPA, our objective is to contribute to the industry by advocating for best practices, ensuring transparent governance, and fostering the development of business skills. HoPA will serve as a platform where sourcing and procurement professionals, along with business partners and organizations, can collaborate, learn, and network with one another, ultimately raising the industry to new levels of excellence.

I eagerly anticipate working with all of you as we embark on this exciting new journey together. Whether you are a seasoned purchasing professional or just beginning your career, HoPA warmly invites you to join our community and make a positive impact in the industry.
